Pemuteran and Lovina Bali Area Guides

Lovina Beach hotels are numerous, but some are much better than others and our Bali guest rating and feedback system identifies the good from the bad. Lovina is an acronym for “Love Indonesia” and comes from the first tourist accommodations built there in 1953. Lovina actually is an 8km stretch of beach covering several villages (Pemaron, Tukad Mungga, Anturan, Kalibukbuk, Kaliasem, Temukus and Banyualit), not a village itself. Many budget backpacker accommodations exist in this northern Balinese tourist resort area, with the odd up-market lodgings thrown in. The centre is in Kalibukbuk which offers several restaurants, bars and shops. Pemuteran is 50 minute drive to the west and comprises of a few beachfront hotels where you can walk quickly from one to another’s restaurant while watching the kerosene lamps of the small fishing boats out to sea. Good off beach snorkeling exists at Pemuteran, which also serves as a scuba diving centre for nearby Menjangan Island. It takes around 3 hours to drive from Denpasar Airport to hotels in either Pemuteran or Lovina.
